Get to know our intern, Adam Granger, and his experience at Mechanics Bank.

“During my internship, I’ve had an incredibly rewarding and insightful experience. Although I’m pursuing a degree in accounting, I was eager to learn about the operations of various departments and enjoyed the opportunity to rotate through almost all of them. This exposure has helped me better understand how each department functions and clarified the organization’s interconnectedness. It has also deepened my appreciation for my role as an accountant, as well as the time I spent working as a teller.

I firmly believe in the value of being well-rounded, and this internship has provided me with exactly that. It has equipped me with a broader skill set and a more thorough understanding of the bank’s operations, enabling me to perform my duties more effectively. While I have genuinely enjoyed every aspect of this internship, I am particularly excited about spending the remainder of my time with accounting.

What has truly stood out to me, however, is the workplace culture. It’s unlike any other I’ve experienced, making me feel valued and integrated rather than just an intern.

Currently, I am a senior at Grace College in Winona Lake, IN, pursuing both a bachelor’s in accounting and an MBA through Grace’s blended program. My career goals are to obtain CPA licensure and one day become a controller or CFO, where I can leverage my skills and experiences to lead financial operations and continue to drive growth. I am extremely grateful for this experience and excited about the opportunities ahead.”
